Kyanite is one of the very few stones (along with citrine) that do not absorb negative energy, so it does not need cleansing. The beautiful colors of Kyanite, in my opinion, is one of the reasons it is also a very peaceful stone, a stone that gently re-balances one's energy and promotes a healthy and peaceful way of being.
Kyanite opens and clears the body's communication centers. For channeling or meditation purposes it works best when it is worn near the throat chakra.
Kyanite is an excellent stone for meditation and attunement.
